The Rules...

  •     There will be a maximum of 20 teams, accepted on a first come, first served basis. If this limit is exceeded, then a reserve list will be held and you may be contacted if further places are available. Therefore, if you are accepted and can no longer take part, please contact us. There will be a small fee of £5 per team entered. Money to be given in at the first meeting at The Art House on the .....

  • Registered participants must be 16 years of age or older. However, younger actors may be used at the responsibility of registered participants
  •  
  •  You enter at your own risk and are responsible for taking precautions for your own safety, kit and as well as liability for the general public.
  •  
  •  On .....you will be issued with a list and your submitted film must contain at least 4 items from that list. The list will  be announced at the venue: The Art .....as well as via the website www.exposurefilmmakers.com and the Exposure Twitter account  twitter.com/ExposureSoton  Your film must be submitted by 6.30pm on Sunday ....a maximum of 48 hours from the start of the Challenge. Submitted as DATA FILES on DVD or memory sticks as .mov, .avi or .mpeg2 format in either standard
    definition or as HDV1080i/p.

  •  It must be a maximum of 4 minutes in length, including all titles and credits. If your film does not meet this length, it may be screened but will strictly not be considered for an award.

  •     All films will be viewed by a team of independent judges. The judges’ decisions are final. If the judges consider your film to be inappropriate for public viewing, then they will not be shown or considered for an award.

  •  In submitting your film you acknowledge that you hold all licensing and copyright permission for all the material used (including any actors and any sound effects or music). Any breach of copyright will mean your film cannot be entered for the competition.
  •     
  •  All footage must be shot and edited within the 48hr time limit, with the exception of minor archive footage or found footage as long as this is clear and you have full permission to use it. Films will be disqualified from the competition if it is judged that any material has been prepared in advance.
  •  
  •  By entering the competition you agree to Southampton Film Week and Exposure Filmmakers owning rights to show your film, free of charge, for the Challenge and in the future, including screenings, online, broadcast and other media channels. We may not be able to contact you if we do broadcast your film in the future and your film may be edited by a third party. We reserve the right to use your film to raise funds for future Challenges and events.

  • All films judged to be appropriate for public viewing and will be screened on [TIMES TO BE CONFIRMED] .... at Southampton Solent University.

  •  The only pre-production permissible is the organising of cast and crew, securing equipment and scouting for possible locations. Bear in mind that there are laws and regulations regarding filming in public locations and places that might be considered public. Make sure you have proper permissions in place.  

  •  The organisers reserve the right not to screen any film that may be considered pornographic, or any material that would attract an 18 certificate.
